THE MINDELO RESERVE IS A VITAL REFUGE FOR COUNTLESS SPECIES OF AMPHIBIANS, OFFERING VARIOUS HABITATS THAT PROVIDE IDEAL CONDITIONS FOR THE LIFE AND REPRODUCTION OF THESE ANIMALS.

During amphibian observation tours in the Mindelo Reserve, participants will have the opportunity to explore lagoons, streams and wetlands that are the main habitats of these animals. Guided by specialized biologists, observers will learn to identify different species of amphibians, such as frogs, toads, newts and salamanders, as well as understand their behaviors, life cycles and their ecological importance. Equipped with flashlights and field guides, participants will be led to the best locations within the reserve to maximize the chances of sightings and observations. In addition to practical field sessions, the tours include educational moments about amphibian conservation and the threats they face, highlighting the importance of preserving their natural habitats.
